Freedom of speech is restricted in India. technically speaking though in our fundamental rights ( article 20 to 35) we are given freedom of speech but there are restrictions to it and this very restrictions are subjective in nature. to put in perspective the freedom speech enjoyed by MPs speaking in Parliament is not equivalent to what u n i should enjoy. compared to this the US ''bill of rights'' has greater degree of freedom of speech.

2. ISRO chairman has the rights to follow any faith that he wants, NO ONE question it. but definitely we can ask ourselves whats makes him belief so. Richard Dawkins gives a very profound eg that if i ask u to believe that a ''tea saucer and tea kettle'' is revolving around Jupiter, will u believe it? Now it is too small to be detected by satellites. but based on this premise can i say that the existence and non existence of ''tea saucer '' is 50%?
The ans is NO because there is logical fallacy in the very existence of tea saucer !
Hope i answered some of ur query ! :)Insolent Truthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02521686632405740373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8936528585637466309.post-19152397913712085862014-12-22T00:05:54.392+05:302014-12-22T00:05:54.392+05:30Hi ..while going through your blog, I thought of r...Hi ..while going through your blog, I thought of replying u separately for each paragraph .
1) 'Uninhibited' freedom of speech in a society is always like a flood in a river .
2) India harbours more non-believers , they blossom well in this country ..thats why this country is the largest democracy . All religions are fundamentally the same . the differ only in their expressions. The division as dharmic and other is an illusion
3 +4) Einstein once said" there are two kinds of people in this world , one who believes everything is a miracle , and other believes nothing is a miracle " but the point that is common to both of them is "a belief to believe in" , and this belief is a religion which can be Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism ,Islam, Christianity , Judaism and interestingly include humanity , science ( which too are religion followed by convention non religious people). ISRO scientist visting a temple symbolizes his respect and gratitude to a controversial supreme power whose non existence yet to be proved to disbelieve it hence, his action is scientifically valid and not unscientific.
and my comments for rest all remaining paragraphs are :
either i hold no difference of opinion to author or falling short of thoughts and words to express.
Ektahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07028558206105566913noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8936528585637466309.post-13077145501050289762014-11-23T02:08:46.756+05:302014-11-23T02:08:46.756+05:30Brilliant piece! They wouldn't call it "faith" if it was based on solid evidences, reason and logic. Sometimes people just "need" to believe. All the major breakthrough of humankind have been from people of reason or "faithful" people using reason which is why faith should not be the foundation of a working ideology in the world today. It is redundant in matters of state. Both the "saffron" and the "green" brigade need to go.

And I completely second your thoughts on the need for change in all the major belief systems of the world. The west has emerged out of the dark ages. Cruel/irrational practices like sati are no longer in practice in India (many more pending though). It is high time for the people of the muslim world to wake up and ride the wave of change. The Middle Eastern Renaissance is long overdue.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08640124833752936990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8936528585637466309.post-46412933518644847242014-05-21T00:10:38.766+05:302014-05-21T00:10:38.766+05:30http://www.ndtv.com/video/player/the-buck-stops-he...http://www.ndtv.com/video/player/the-buck-stops-here/watch-the-shourie-interview-on-rss-reviving-the-economy-and-more/322214

nice interviewInsolent Truthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02521686632405740373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8936528585637466309.post-24159971750688170032014-05-16T23:41:17.323+05:302014-05-16T23:41:17.323+05:30Nice piece.. let the country prosper... The policy is very correct, i admit, but the execution is not. Amartya sen model is not doubt more sustainable than Bhagwati's, but only on paper. Negative externalities will always pull the equality model back.
Also, i think the govt has finally started to realise that it cant propel india alone, it needs the private sector, it needs the talented individuals(which are actly in abundance here, but in a crude form). They should provide suitable ecosystem for them to grow. As u said, individualism has to be supported. Religion, may be in a wrong way but does disciplines those poeple. If wrong deeds were not punishable in hell (yamlok :P), world would have been a pain in the a** . I am not saying religion rights all wrongs, but imagine the chaos if no one was worried about karma and hurting/murdering people would have been a by product of rational thinking.

I believe religion is a way of living life, which can be done by different individuals in different ways and one is not bound to lead his/her life that way. Religion does unites and spreads love too (Festivals are one such examples). It is up to an individual how he perceives his life. Kneeling in front of god just so that exams should go well or business runs profitably is not religion, but thanking the god for the wonderful life and leading it in a good manner might be the religion.

As you said science has been removing the shackles of religious irrationality, but there are many questions science still needs to answer, many voids stills needs gods :) ... just as in science, a thoery is not a fact and undestanding of a theory improves with series of experiments and sometimes even thoery changes and we accept it as it proves to us (like Einstien did )... religion too might be a theory whose understanding changes with more exploration..and world was always flat untill we explored it :)

I am not declaring myself to be theist or atheist, I just believe leading life simply and have found religion and science both helpful in doing so. :)
Biplabnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8936528585637466309.post-498585584794358512013-07-30T16:22:31.336+05:302013-07-30T16:22:31.336+05:30haha... not yet bhai !haha... not yet bhai !Insolent Truthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02521686632405740373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8936528585637466309.post-1445297135914467412013-07-30T16:22:03.769+05:302013-07-30T16:22:03.769+05:30Bang on, wonderful explanation !Bang on, wonderful explanation !Insolent Truthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02521686632405740373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8936528585637466309.post-57834493270465028322013-07-30T12:19:40.148+05:302013-07-30T12:19:40.148+05:30good, the presence of atheist decreases the no. o...good, the presence of atheist decreases the no. of prayers in a given of time..right? praying inflation has two components . one spatial and other temporal. atheist can reduce spatial ( means no.at a given time) component as mentioned earlier but temporal component , means vigrous praying by anatheist and praying for longer duration with different methodologies can still bang the head of god...... antheist is a DISTRACTION set up by the god for anatheist to test their praying capacities..so an atheist is a control for better customer supply to god to help him utelise his LIMITED resources
ektanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8936528585637466309.post-59588212650325620062013-07-25T14:25:41.860+05:302013-07-25T14:25:41.860+05:30A good food for thought, I like usage of terminolo...A good food for thought, I like usage of terminologies " praying inflation" and " Praying Competition".

By the way, are you lately been doing a part time MBA?
